The Day
Day guests
Day guests can arrive from 12:30pm, and the bar will be open until 1pm.
The ceremony begins at 1:30pm sharp.
Evening guests
Evening guests are welcome from 6:30pm.
Photos
We’d love for you to take photos throughout the day and add them to our shared album. We just ask that phones stay away during the ceremony. Our photographers will be capturing everything, so you can simply be present in the moment.
Leaving
The music switches off at 12am. Coltsfoot is in a remote village, so please book taxis and make travel arrangements in advance.
Dress code
Ladies
Bright colours, pastels and florals are very welcome for a spring feel. Please avoid dark colours (black, navy, brown), and also grey, cream or white.
As it’s a farm and there may be games, comfortable shoes are recommended — no stilettos.
Men
Any suit or smart outfit is perfect — no need for a tux. To keep with the spring feel, we ask that you avoid black, denim and shorts.
The venue
Coltsfoot Country Retreat is a rustic barn set on a working farm in Bull's Green, Hertfordshire. The ceremony and reception will take place at Coltsfoot.
Travel
Arriving by Car
There is a large free car park on site.
The entrance gates open automatically on arrival.
Arriving by Train
Coltsfoot is in the remote village of Bull's Green where public transport is limited. We recommend booking taxis in advance.
The nearest station is Welwyn North (8 minutes by taxi).
Other nearby stations:

- Welwyn Garden City — 13 minutes
- Stevenage — 15 minutes
The last trains towards london leave just after midnight so make sure you don't miss them!

There are 15 rooms available onsite for guests, and we are required to fill 12.

The room prices are £165 including breakfast.
Availability
Rooms are limited. If many guests request a room in their RSVP, we will arrange a local hotel block.

Gifts
We’re not expecting gifts — having you celebrate with us is what matters most. But if you’d like to give something, a contribution to our dream honeymoon would mean a lot.
Plus ones
We kindly ask that you stick to the guests listed on your invitation so we can plan the day smoothly and stay on budget.
Kids
As much as we love your little ones we want you to kick back, relax and celebrate with us. We kindly ask that you stick to the guests listed on your invitation.
Alcohol
Drinks are included with your wedding breakfast, and there’s a bar on site for anything else you’d like. To keep within Coltsfoot’s licensing rules, we kindly ask that you don’t open your own alcohol during the day.
Breakfast
If you’re staying on site overnight, breakfast is included with your room and will be served at 9am. If you’re staying elsewhere and would like to join us, just let Jack or Freya know and we’ll happily make arrangements.
Checkout
If you are staying overnight on site we need to be out of the rooms by 10am and depart coltsfoot by 10:30.
RSVP
Please complete your RSVP by the 30th August 2026. If you need to change your RSVP please get in contact with Jack or Freya.
Food
There will be a choice of 3 mains & 2 starters/ desserts for day guests and several pizzas on offer in the evening. We will be in contact about your menu choices closer to the date. Please include any dietary restrictions in your RSVP so that we can accommodate everyone.
